Victory! Sarah of SOAS 2 NOT GUILTY!

“We never once stopped defending the Palestinian people!” declared Sarah Cotte to her jubilant comrades and supporters, after a jury on 18 September unanimously voted her NOT GUILTY. Sarah, a student and a supporter of the Revolutionary Communist Group, was arrested and charged under the Terrorism Act 2000 following 7 October 2023, for a speech she gave on behalf of the Fight Racism! Fight Imperialism! Society at SOAS asserting the Palestinians’ right to defend themselves. The PDC supported the vibrant campaign the RCG ran for the SOAS 2 for over two years. As Sarah remarked outside the Old Bailey court: after three years of British complicity in genocide, her case is a victory for all those who stand with the liberation struggle in Palestine. It proves, she said, that “We have the right to defend the Palestinian people including their right to armed struggle, their right to resist occupation and genocide, and we need to keep on saying this, to keep shouting it from the rooftops!” Free Palestine!
