The NDP has just allowed passage of a vicious anti-worker austerity budget. Once again NDP leaders act as shills for “national unity” with the Liberals and the status quo. Workers have had enough! After dealing with decades of flatlined wages, declining living standards, and four years of a Liberal/NDP government, thousands are moving right and embracing Poilievre’s Conservative Party.
The Trotskyist League is giving critical support to the leadership campaign launched by the NDP Socialist Caucus for radical journalist Yves Engler. By coming out against NATO, Zionism and for Palestinian freedom, this campaign represents a break with “politics as usual” — a chance to go on the political offensive against the pro-imperialist sell-outs running the NDP and the labour movement. This is a fight that needs to happen!
Canadian capitalists and their lackeys in the NDP establishment will do everything to block Engler and prevent this movement from taking off. Let’s fight like hell for the right of workers and oppressed people to choose their own candidate in this race!
