Come to the Red Roundtable at the Prometheus Research Library in New York City. Jacob Zumoff, author of "The Red Thread: The Passaic Textile Strike" and a PRL research associate, will speak about the strike, followed by discussion. This is the 100th anniversary of the strike, when some 15,000 wool workers—largely immigrants and women—fought for more than a year under communist leadership for better conditions, higher wages, and a union. Although ultimately defeated, the strike is rich in lessons for struggles by labor and the oppressed today.
