Marieha Hussain is being prosecuted for holding a satirical placard comparing Rishi Sunak and Suella Braverman to coconuts at a pro-Palestine demo last November. As a result, she has also lost her teaching job. Outrageously, she is charged with a racially aggravated public order offence. This grotesque prosecution criminalises any opposition to the government’s support to Israel’s genocidal war in Gaza.
