After the brutal cop repression at CCNY and Columbia, what is needed to defend the protesters and free Palestine is to escalate the struggle and fight for a national student strike. To this aim, at Hunter College on May Day we tried to organize a walkout with the RCA and the CCNY SJP. The CUNY Internationalist Club refused to help us with this action. In fact, they tried to undermine it at every turn. Some of their comrades even argued that it was a bad tactic and adventurous to call for a walkout. This amounts to their refusal to stop business as usual on campus.
Which side are you on? Are you guys really opposed to a walkout? The question posed is, are you going to work with us and others to help push the student struggle forward or will you stand as an obstacle to the necessary struggle? We urge you to change course and help us.
