Hands off Julius Malema & the EFF!

Donald Trump’s American Empire is on the rampage. From Venezuela to South Africa to the Middle East workers and oppressed have no choice: resistance to US imperialism is the only way for the workers of the Global South to defend their political freedoms and class interests.

In South Africa, the first battle line is to overturn the October “guilty” verdict against EFF leader Julius Malema on bogus gun charges, which carries a possible 15-year prison sentence. This is the South African government’s attempt to appease Trump who demanded Malema’s head from South African president Ramaphosa & Co in the White House last May. This is a blatant attack on the EFF’s democratic political rights, the light and air of the socialist movement.

Malema was targeted because the EFF’s radical demands, like land expropriation without compensation, strike a chord with brutally exploited black and Coloured farm workers and threaten the parasitic interests of the white baas. Malema and the EFF must not stand alone in this fight. This is an attack on every worker, leftist and liberation fighter.

Leftists, workers and freedom fighters must defend Malema as a concrete act to build the struggle against US imperialism’s crushing oppression of the South African masses. Hands off Julius Malema! An injury to one is an injury to all!
